How We #GiveBack

Connecting with our community and looking for meaningful ways to give back is the heartbeat of Megan's Mark. 

As a former middle school teacher, I (Megan) noticed that  several of my students in the foster care system often had difficulty in school and struggled with the realities of circumstances that were beyond their control. While working with our after-school program helping students develop their creativity, I saw those same kids come alive though writing, drawing, and creative expression.

When I started Megan’s Mark, I purposed to use my leatherwork skills to bring a smile to the face of these sweet children in our community.

Every month we donate personalized refillable leather notebooks to children in foster care.  We’ve had children utilize their notebooks for writing poetry, song lyrics, sketching, journaling, practicing their ABC’s, even “epic” doodling!!

Each handcrafted notebook is personalized with the child’s name, so through the years they can have something they know belongs just to them. Hopefully, encouraging their creativity while serving as a tangible reminder of how special they are.

It’s our belief that having a personalized notebook will provide each child an outlet to process their experiences and let their creative juices flow!

Every child is a blessing, and I trust that wherever their life takes them, they’ll make their mark!

     3 Ways You Can Help:

1. Finished Goods - A portion of every M² order goes towards covering the costs (labor/materials/distribution) associated with providing these personalized notebooks. When you place an order for our finished leather goods, you are helping us continue to honor our monthly commitment to these children.

2. DIY Earring Kits – Are you crafty…or wanna be crafty?! These kits are a fun and simple way to flex your DIY muscles and give back at the same time—everybody wins!! We even have a video tutorial  to walk you step-by-by-step through the process. 100% of the profits on these kits go toward notebooks for the kids. Order kits here.  **These items are processed via Leathercraft Ladies, our partner website, but all proceeds directly benefit notebooks for the kiddos. 

3. Notebook Refills – aren’t interested in leather but still want to contribute to our efforts? You may purchase one (or more) of the exact notebook refills we use for the children. Any of these three notebook options will fit with the leather covers we make for the kiddos: option 1, option 2, option 3. Double check to ensure you're selecting the blank/unlined paper as we've found that is the most versatile option for the children.   We source these from Amazon so checkout is simple. Just include our shipping address to have them sent directly to us at:
